Director-General of Police Anurag Sharma said this was the first Passing out Parade after Telangana was born. He recalled Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s words that the safety and security of women and children in the State were of paramount importance.

This was exactly why the need for more women in the police force was felt, he said, adding that they had proposed 33 per cent reservation in the force.

Academy Director M. Malakondaiah presented a report on the ongoing activity in the training institution and said that over a period of nine months, the cadets were taken through a rigorous physical fitness schedule and taught the rudiments of various subjects.
