NIRMAL (Adilabad): Union minister S Jaipal Reddy reiterated on Wednesday that formation of a separate Telangana state will be completed by January 2014.
“It is not proper on the part of Seemandra leaders to create hurdles for Telangana. They should extend their cooperation in carving out the new state,” he said, adding that it was regretful that political parties which had earlier supported Telangana, had changed their stand. These parties are now trying to betray Seemandra people, he said adding that people are intelligent enough to understand their nefarious designs.
Commenting on the Telugu Desam Party’s slogan of ‘samanyayam’ (equal justice), Jaipal Reddy wanted to know the meaning of the word.
Article 3 of Constitution provides full powers to Parliament to create new states and there was need for the approval of Assembly
He hoped that the T bill would be passed in both houses of Parliament in the ensuing winter session.
He also rubbished the demand of Seemandhra leaders that Bhadrachalam division be merged with the residuary state. “There is no meaning in their demand. Bhadrachalam is part of Telangana,” he said.
