The net asset value of Telangana has topped in the country and it recorded 100% growth in five years from 2017 to 2021, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
The net asset value of the state that was RS 95,000 crores in 2017 has gone upto Rs 1,81 lakh crore in 2021. One particular sector that witnessed skyrocketing development is the agriculture sector. The food production that was 94,000 metric tonnes in 2017 has increased to 1.50 lakh metric tonnes in 2021. The states like Karnkataka, Tamilnadu, West Bengal and other states registered just 30 percent of growth in the agriculture sector. Only Telangana registered 100 percent growth in this sector, RBI appreciated.
The Telangana state also focused on development of agriculture allied sectors like fisheries, animal husbandry and dairy among others. The RBI also appreciated the initiatives like Rythu Bandhu, Tyrhu Bheema, free power to farmers, stabilisation of command area, among others.
RBI observed that the area under cultivation has been growing steadily in Telangana and observed that the area under cultivation was 103.16 lakh acres in 2014 and has been increased to 135.75 lakh acres in 2022-2023. For the first time in the history, the Telangana state has sown paddy i 654.31 lakh acres, the RBI observed.
Telangana registered excellent growth in agriculture, mining, manufacturing, trading, service sectors among others thus creating a net asset value by 100 percent in the last five years, the RBI report said.
