Divide AP, form Telangana: AB Bardhan

“Telangana state should be formed at the earliest. Our party will  support the statehood bill in the parliament if and when the UPA government decides to table it” said CPI general secretary AB Bardhan. He was addressing a massive public meeting held at Karimanagar as a part of the three-day CPI state-level convention being held in the town.

The city was virtually painted red with over two thousand party activists wearing red shirts held a march in the streets. The folk songs and cultural events by artists of the party frontal organizations inspired the party activists and as well public. The onlookers danced to the tunes and songs playback singer Vandemataram Srinivas.

The Gussadi (tribal) dance by party State Secretary K Narayana wearing tribal headgear remained highlight of the day. CPI National Secretary A B Bardhan, leader Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy while accusing the UPA government at Centre and State Government of adopting anti-peoples’ policies faulted them of deceiving the Telangana people on the statehood issue.

The venue ground and all the roads leading to the town were filled to the brim much before the commencement of meeting. The activists evinced interest in buying party stickers, badges and CDs at the stalls. The onlookers thronged the Book Exhibition and purchased books in a large scale.
