BJP Telangana Poru Yatra – Day 2

BJP state president, Kishan Reddy’s Telangana Poru Yatra continued on the second day with the same enthusiasm and energy as the first day. The day started at Devarakadra town with Kishan Reddy addressing a press meet and then meeting a group of weavers.

The convoy then left to Mahabubnagar where a meeting was held with about 6000 people attending the meeting. Various JAC leaders and community leaders came and expressed their solidarity with the Poru Yatra.

Kishan Reddy pooh-poohed the dubious attitude of the Congress and Telugu Desam parties on the Telangana issue. He said that the double standard of these parties on Telangana is the main reason for the present crisis in the state. He said that BJP is the only national party that maintains the same stand on this issue in all the three regions in the state. He also asked students not to commit suicide on the issue of Telangana and said that one has to live and fight for the cause. Later addressing a hugely attended meeting at Jadcherla town, Kishan Reddy said that the successive Congress Governments in the state have failed the people on all fronts including the most important thing of providing drinking and irrigation water to the people of the state and especially to the people of Mahabubnagar district. He also said that the Telugu Desam party which ruled the state for 15 years also failed on all the fronts. He said the Mahabubnagar district have become known for their brand ‘Palamoor labor’, where people from the district are migrating to other parts of the country because of lack of employment opportunities in the district and also due to lack of water availability to the farmers.
