Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kamal Nath clarified on Friday that the union government was determined to pass the AP State Reorganization 2013 Bill in the next Parliament session commencing on February 7.
“We will pass the Bill in Parliament, even if it means extending the session,” Kamal Nath informed reporters.
Earlier in the day Congress State affairs in-charge Digvijaya Singh issued a statement that the outcome of the debate in the AP State Assembly would not have any bearing on the Union Government’s decision to create Telangana state.
Digvijaya said he had asked CM N Kiran Kumar Reddy to ensure that the draft Telangana Bill is returned to the President as early as possible.
