As the campaign for Huzurabad Assembly by-election heats up, except TRS, all parties are lagging behind.
The ruling party has been putting up a spectacular show organizing village-level meetings simultaneously across the constituency. The opposition parties – the Congress and BJP are lagging behind in matching the show. They also seem to be morally bankrupt as they neither have any claim nor any promise to make if they win this seat.
The public sympathy wave that Etela Rajender got soon after falling out of grace CM K Chandrasekhar Rao has now turned into hostile with stalling of Dalit Bandhu by the BJP and Mr. Etela Rajender. The sympathy wave waned over the period as he restricted himself to just rebuking CM KCR who gave him a political life and patronized him for 20 years. “ Etela Rajender has nothing to claim now. Neither he is in BJP nor out of it. The situation is like that as not many BJP leaders are actively taking part in the campaign,” observed a Mr. Damodar Rao, a local resident.
According to one BJP leader who asked for anonymity said their party does not have a cadre in Telangana as being claimed. He worked as one of the in-charges in GHMC elections where he said they hardly found 200 people in many divisions – both members and sympathizers. “The situation is no different I
n Huzurabad,” he said stating that now it is difficult to take Mr. KCR head-on.
