The week long Telangana Saadhana Padayatras by Telangana Rashtra Samithi has once again showed the huge popularity of the party in the region. The padayatras, which was held in all 10 Telangana districts concluded yesterday.
A huge public meeting marked the end of the padayatra in Medak district.
Soeaking at the meeting, noted educationist and Telangana leader, Chukka Ramaih appealed to the union government to start the process of creating a Telangana state without further delay. He expressed concern that the delay might lead to unfortunate incidents in the State in the days to come.
He said that the AP Government was trying to suppress the movement by using brute police force and was foisting false cases under the PD Act against the movement leadership.
