11 TRS legislators had faxed their resignations to the assembly secretary on Monday.
Speaking at a press conference after faxing their resignations, TRS MLA Kalvakuntla Taraka Rama Rao said “We will see that the Speaker accepts our quit letters this time as we have taken adequate precautions by following all rules, including the Speaker’s format. MLAs of other parties too must get their resignations accepted by the Speaker at the earliest”
KTR also demanded that Union cabinet Minister Jaipal Reddy should resign to his post immediately. He said Reddy’s resignation would become an eye-opener to the UPA government and force it to act in a decisive manner in support of Telangana state. “Jaipal Reddy’s resignation will have the desired effect on the Centre. If he does not submit his resignation to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress president Sonia Gandhi at this crucial hour, he would go down in history as a betrayer of the Telangana struggle,” he said.
