Martyr Yadi Reddy Laid To Rest

Pedamangalaram in Moinabad mandal reverberated with Jai Telangana slogans as hundreds of T-protaganists thronged the village to pay their last respects to M Yadi Reddy, who committed suicide two days ago near Parliament House in New Delhi even as sporadic incidents marred the bandh call given by the TJAC on Friday.

The bandh call was given to protest against the refusal of the government to allow Telangana leaders from paying homage to Yadi Reddy.

A grim atmosphere prevailed in Pedamangalaram since morning as hundreds of people and politicians descended on the village to pay homage to Yadi Reddy. TRS MLA T Harish Rao personally supervised the funeral arrangements.

TJAC convenor Prof M Kodandaram, Telangana Praja Front leader and balladeer Gadar, TRS legislator E Rajender, Telangana Jagruthi leader Kavitha and several others consoled the family members of Yadi Reddy and took part in the funeral procession.

In the afternoon, Yadi Reddy’s body was taken out in a procession in the village before being cremated. Police was deployed in large numbers as a precautionary measure.

Telangana activists demanded resignation of Union minister S Jaipal Reddy under whose constituency Moinabad falls and vowed to fight unitedly till a separate Telangana state is carved out.
