It seemed an uphill task for the TRS a few months back but the now wind is clearly blowing in favour of the pink party. And the ruling TRS is racing ahead to win the Munugode bypoll with a handsome margin.
TRS party’s focussed and aggressive campaign, CM KCR’s massive public meeting, minister KTR’s promise to adopt Munugode, TRS candidate Kooskuntla Prabhakar Reddy’s ground connect and BJP nominee Rajagopal Reddy’s self-admission of quid-pro-quo, support of communist parties are some of the major factors paving a way for the grand victory of the TRS.
Much to the disappointment of the saffron party supporters, none of the union ministers nor BJP’s national president JP Nadda campaigned in Munugode. Nadda’s public meeting scheduled on October 31 got cancelled most likely due to BJP’s aides’ arrest in the TRS MLAs’ poaching case.
The BJP national leadership has isolated Rajagopal Reddy and he was left to fend for himself. And the state unit’s morale was hit badly with BJP’s role exposed in the MLAs’ poaching incident.
All these episodes are just rubbing salt into the wound of Reddy who already scored a self-goal by admitting that he was awarded a contract worth Rs. 18,000 crores for crossing over from the Congress to the BJP. Meanwhile, the Congress party which is busy with Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra is toiling hard for second place.
All the surveys and ground reports indicate that the TRS is the favourite to win the bypoll. And the mood of Munugode is clear that only the TRS under the leadership of CM KCR can further develop the constituency.
