TJAC to conduct Telangana meet in Delhi

HYDERABAD: The Telangana Political Joint Action Committee (TJAC) is to organise a round table meeting of national parties on Telangana in Delhi next month. This was decided at a meeting of the extended steering committee of the TJAC held here on Wednesday.

“In a bid to draw attention to the Telangana issue at the national level, a round table meeting has been planned in Delhi. We will invite the presidents and general secretaries of all the national parties including the Congress for the meeting,” M Kodandaram, chairman of TJAC, said after the conclusion of the meeting.

He said the round table meeting would be held either on July 4 or 5 in the national capital. Leaders of the national parties including BJP, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), CPI, Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD), Forward Block, and New Democracy took part in the Wednesday’s meeting. The Congress stayed away from it.

The extended steering committee of TJAC also decided to hold a ‘people’s court’ on June 29 indicting the state government for its repressive action against the Telangana activists during ‘Chalo Assembly’ on June 14. People across Telangana region will take part in the ‘People’s court’ to be held in Veterinary Bhavan near Masab Tank in Hyderabad.
