The launch of ‘Swachh Telangana-Swachh Hyderabad campaign’ on Saturday

The stage is set for the launch of ‘Swachh Telangana-Swachh Hyderabad campaign’ on Saturday with an aim to transform Hyderabad into a clean and green and slum-free city.

The programme will be formally inaugurated at 3 pm on Saturday at HICC by Governor ESL Narasimhan in the presence of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.

The Swachh Hyderabad would have 425 units with the addition of 17 Industrial Area Local Authorities (IALAs) and eight Cantonment area units. GHMC has been divided into 400 compact geographical units known as Swachh Units of 1 to 2 sq.km with 4 to 5 colonies for the campaign. All the 425 units ie, mentors and patrons will visit their allotted segments and interact with residents of the locality and take up Swachh Hyderabad programme. Each unit will be headed by governor, chief minister, cabinet ministers, parliamentary secretaries, MLAs, MPs, IAS, IPS, IFS and they will take up cleaning of garbage and debris in their allotted segments. Ministers and official who head the units will be held responsible for cleanliness of the allotted segment.

The governor has been allotted Anandanagar unit in Circle 10 as patron. KCR has been allotted Parsigutta unit of Circle 9 as patron.

Five hundred cultural teams, celebraties from sports and film industry will be a part of the programme.

GHMC has formed 425 instant repairs mobile teams and will work under their directions so as to maintain cleanliness and take up suggested minor repair works instantly. Each segment will have a committee with 15 responsible citizens of that particular area who will work with the designated officials to take up quality civic infrastructure works.
