IT minister KT Rama Rao met representatives of several IT giants in Bay Area during his ninth day US tour on Friday. Rao invited them to come to Telangana. Rao met Applied Materials vice-president Om Nallamasu, who hails from Telangana state.
The minister invited Applied Materials to partner with Telangana government in research, especially in IIIT and NIT in Warangal. This would help Telangana state students to achieve international standards in IT education. Later, the minister held discussions with New Enterprise Associates, one of the leading venture capital institute. The General Partner of the New Enterprise Associates was Kittu Kolluri, who hails from Medak district.
KTR also discussed the possibility of bringing experts from Silicon Valley to the proposed T-Hub. Kittu suggested Rama Rao to use drone technology to study agriculture system, which will improve agriculture productivity.
