The Telangana state cabinet has approved filling up new posts.
The cabinet, which met on Saturday chaired by chief minister Mr K Chandrasekhar Rao, has decided to reorganize the Roads & Buildings department and, fill up 472 posts, and decentralize the decision-making in the department giving more autonomy to the Chief Engineers and down the level.
It was also decided to fill up 2,592 teaching and non-teaching posts in BC Gurukuls.
Intending to revamp the police department to meet the increasing challenges, the state government decided to recruit experts in cyber safety. Notification will be issued to recruit 3,966 personnel. The cabinet approved the proposal to set up new police stations and create new circles and divisions under the jurisdiction of Hyderabad, Rachakonda, and Cyberabad police commissionerates.
The cabinet observed that due to the efforts of the police, thefts, robberies, and chain snatching cases declined but cyber crimes and financial offenses were on the rise. The police were asked to ensure maximum conviction of the lawbreakers.
It was also decided to set up a cabinet sub-committee headed by Finance minister T Harish Rao to study the functioning of the government employees from the Head of the Department and down the line.
