Telangana Municipal Affairs minister Mr K T Rama Rao hailed the officials who brought out legislation in Braille script for the first time in the country.
He said that for the first time in the country, the Telangana government has drafted a law in Braille specifically for the blind. Mr K T Rama Rao unveiled the Municipal Act 2019 book printed in Braille by the Municipal Department at a function held at Pragati Bhavan on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, he said many people in their affairs on a day-to-day basis in the state would need a municipal law, and in this context printing in Braille was done for the blind.
The Minister pointed out that the book printed in Braille would be of use to many and it should be put to good use. He congratulated CDMA N Satyanarayana and other officials of the Municipal Department for printing in Braille.
Mr Rama Rao said the municipal law was designed to be ideal and transparent in the country. The state government was undertaking a number of programmes for the disabled. They are being given Rs 3,016 pension per month under Asara scheme. In addition, reservations have been made for three-wheelers and in job recruitments. Chief Minister Mr KCR initiated several programmes for the disabled from a humanitarian point of view. The Municipal Act has already been printed in Telugu and English. It is printed in such a way that it can be easily used by employees. It would clear all the doubts and answers their questions in a simple way.
