Telangana government keeping rivers alive, agriculture minister S Niranjan Reddy.

The improved green cover and Palle Pragathi initiates have helped maintain river Godavari clean and alive, said agriculture minister S Niranjan Reddy.
Taking part at a conference on conservation on rivers, he said in villages people are adopting good practices like segregating waste and turning them into compost. In the past they used to let the garbage into drains and rivulets that polluted the water bodies. Now the situation has changed for the better. The government had set up nurseries in villages and the Telangana state witnessed a three percent increase in green cover. It also helped keep river Godavari clean and alive that speaks volumes about visionary chief minister Mr KCR.
The otherwise dry Godavari is now full of water with projects like Kaleswaram. Now the river looks perennial.
Water man of India Mr Rajendra Singh, water resources development corporation Chairman V Prakash and others were present.
