Telangana will be the seed bowl, agriculture minister S Niranjan Reddy.

The agriculture that was accorded least priority in erstwhile Andhra Pradesh is being given top priority now in separate Telangana, said agriculture minister S Niranjan Reddy.
Inaugurating the newly set up Telangana International Seed Testing Authority near the Jayashankar agricultural university, the minister said a series of initiatives taken up by chief minister Mr KCR turned the farming into a viable vocation. The free power, water, input subsidy and measures aimed at creating confidence among farmers yielded fruits.
The new facility TISTA will further boost agriculture not just in Telangana but across the country by producing quality seeds. The Minister went round the facility and interacted with the personnel. He inspected germination and inquired about the process at the centre.
University vice chancellor Prof Praveen Rao said the Telangana government has been doing excellently in the agriculture sector unlike the past governments.
The farmers did not get encouragement that they are getting now from the ruling TRS government.
It may be noted that farming was termed as waste by the then chief minister of Andhra Pradesh and the continued drought drove farmers to commit suicides.
For the last seven years the TRS infused confidence among the farmers and turned farming lucrative. Several people settled in cities too are now looking upto farming as the state government has been very encouraging.
