TCS sets up Next Gen Tech Solutions centre in Hyderabad

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has set up a Next-Gen Technology Solutions Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Hyderabad.

Announcing the launch on Tuesday, a release from the company said that the new facility will focus on research and development of futuristic technologies and creation of next-generation products and solutions for its global customers in the semiconductors, devices and networks space.

Spread across 10,000 sq ft and located at the IT major’s campus here, the CoE has a dedicated team of over 200 engineers. “The primary focus of the Centre is on emerging communication technologies such as Software Defined Networks (SDN), Network Function Virtualization (NFV), 5G and Wireless LAN (WLAN).

Another area of focus is to create innovative technology solutions for the connected world in areas such as Man-Machine interface, Context-aware systems and resource constrained devices,” the release said.

Vice President and Global Head of Technology Business Unit V.Rajanna said that with NextGen technologies set to play an integral role in the constantly connected world, the CoE will “work with our customers to co-create new solutions and frameworks.” This would help accelerate the product development cycle and create differentiation in the marketplace, he said.

The facility would collaborate with various partners such as leading academic institutes and open source communities to shape up the evolution and adoption of these next-generation technologies, the release said.
