Supreme Court refuses to issue stay on Telangana

Hearing a batch of over 20 writ petitions filed by various Seemandhra leaders against Telangana formation, the Supreme Court today refused to grant an interim stay on state formation.

According to media sources, the Supreme court has also expressed its unhappiness at the stubborn arguments of petitioners. At one stage, apparently one of the judges even reprimanded Undavalli Arun Kumar and asked him not to convert the court into a fish market.

The court has also directed the Union Government to file a counter and set the next hearing to August 20th.

With the latest decision of Supreme Court, all hopes of anti-Telangana lobby of stopping the Telangana formation on June 2nd, the appointed day, have been dashed to the ground.
