Launching the vaccination programme for teenagers at Banjara Hills public health centre, he said, “It is the responsibility of all parents to vaccinate their children as a matter of duty.” College owners are also taking responsibility for vaccinating children, and all children attending their colleges are advised to be vaccinated. He said it was permissible to vaccinate children not only in government but also in private hospitals. He said one could register online in 12 corporations in the city and can have on a walk-in basis in other areas, as well as at 1,014 centres across the state.
The minister said after four days, a decision would be taken again on online registration depending on the situation. A birth certificate, Aadhaar card and college ID card will suffice for registration. Government hospitals have all kinds of medicines and facilities to combat corona and 21 lakh home isolation kits were made available.
Mr Harish Rao clarified that he would not go to a private hospital and spend money. As corona and omicron cases are on the rise in the state, everyone is advised to be alert and get tested for corona symptoms.
The health minister instructed the health department officials to fully gear up for any emergency.
