The government will place the Telangana bill in Parliament as soon as it receives it from the Andhra Pradesh Assembly, Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde today said, expressing confidence that it will be passed.
“I am very much confident that the bill will be passed. The President of India has referred it to the Andhra Pradesh Assembly. We are awaiting the report.
“Once the bill comes to us, we will place it before Parliament,” he said, while replying to a question on creation of separate Telangana during his monthly press conference here.
The Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Bill or the Telangana bill has been approved by the Union Cabinet and sent to Andhra Pradesh Assembly for approval.
