Irrigation minister T Harish Rao said that about Rs 220 crore would be spent on construction of new market yards, modernising old market yards and constructing of sub yards in the district. Harish visited Patancheru constituency in Medak district on Sunday and laid the foundation for development works in Patancheru and Ramachandrapuram mandals in the constituency.
A market yard would be constructed at a cost of Rs 2.4 crore in Patancheru mandal headquarters. Earlier, he laid foundation stone for the construction of a function hall at Ramachandrapuram.
Speaking on the occasion, Harish said that required infrastructure would be provided to Patancheru and Ramachandrapuram mandals as they are near to Hyderabad.
He added that two reservoirs would be constructed at a cost of Rs 130 crore for providing water for drinking and irrigation purposes in the two mandals. Two tanks would also be developed as mini tank bunds in the two mandals, he said.
A six lane road is also proposed to be constructed from Ramachandrapuram to Sangareddy and the required approval has been obtained, Harish added.
“Telangana State will be developed in all spheres and the government is working towards the welfare of all groups and implementing various programmes,” the irrigation minister added. He also told that the Malakpet onion market yard would be shifted to Patancheru.
