Strive to Restore Telangana Glory: Kavitha

Stressing on the need to popularise Telangana literature, Nizamabad MP K Kavitha urged the people of the State to strive hard to restore the glory of Telangana.

Speaking at the diary launch function organised by Telangana Vikasa Samithi here on Monday, Kavitha said “The moment something is achieved people tend to take rest. That should not happen with Telangana people and various organisations working for their betterment. Our main goal is to bring Telangana its lost glory – be it in literature, jobs or in any other sector. Till we achieve that we all should work hard.”

Kavitha advised the members of the Telangana Vikasa Samithi and Telangana Rachaitala Sangam to organise a week long literature festival to promote the work of Telangana writers and poets.

Kavitha, who also released a book penned by famous Telangana writer Telakapalli Ramachandra Sastry, said that there is a need to popularise the works of famous Telangana litterateurs. “It is sad to see that a famous writer like Ramachandra Sastry was not familiar to the world for the past 60 years. Now, after the formation of Telangana State, Telangana Vikasa Samithi has come forward to introduce him to the world.

Telangana writer and poet Nandini Sidda Reddy observed that the only way to end discrimination against Telangana is to educate the people. “Even after the formation of the new state, the people of Telangana are not enjoying all the benefits. People from Andhra are still dictating terms in various fields and there is a serious need to change this scenario. The only way to do this is to educate our people,” he said.
