Rayala-Telangana is a strict no no: Prof. Kodandaram

TJAC chairman Prof. Kodandaram reacted seriously to some statements made by Congress leaders that the UPA government is contemplating on creating Rayala Telangana.

He said the people of Telangana want only the region that was merged with Andhra state on November 1, 1956. Speaking to the media after a meeting of the TJAC, Prof. Kodandaram also criticized leaders like Gandra Venkata Ramana Reddy for coming up with such weird proposals. He said any leader who supports such meaningless proposals would be treated like a traitor to the statehood movement.

He said “We accept only the existing 10 districts of Telangana with Hyderabad as its capital. We do not want any other district or region to be merged into the proposed state”

The TJAC’s statement was also echoed by several Telangana activists across the region.
