The TRS leaders including elected public representatives took part in state wide protests demanding the Central Government should procure paddy produced in Telangana.
Leading the dharna, Minister Mr K T Rama Rao, who took part in protest at Sircilla, sought to know why the Centre is buying all paddy in Punjab state but not in Telangana. He lashed out at discriminatory attitude of BJP government.
At Parvatagiri in Warangal district, addressing the farmers, the Panchayat Raj Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao said the day will come when the people will chase the BJP out of Telangana for its empty promises and anti farmer policies.
The TRS leaders were asking the Central Government to buy paddy produced by farmers in summer season as well while slowly encouraging them to shift for cultivation of other crops.
The farmers will be forced to commit suicides if the Centre suddenly stops paddy procurement as the crop has already been harvested, they said.
