New master plan for Warangal: Kadiam

The Warangal district which happens to be the second major place after the State capital would witness huge development in the days to come, said Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari.

He was addressing the people after hoisting national flag at Telangana State Formation Day celebrations at Parade grounds here on Tuesday. The Chief Minister has unveiled a plan for the greater development of Warangal beginning with a 73 km ORR and earmarking 3,600 acres for the proposed industrial corridor between Warangal and Hyderabad.

“The State government will come up with a comprehensive new master plan for the Greater Warangal keeping in view the population for next 50 years. It was decided to develop 183 slums with Rs.26.45 crore,” Mr. Kadiam Srihari said.

Besides, the newly set up Health University and upcoming Kaloji Kalakshetram, the district got huge funds for road development, Mission Kakatiya among others. Hundreds of school children presented colourful cultural programmes. Over 30 persons, who excelled in various fields were felicitated on the occasion. District Collector Vakati Karuna, Superintendent of Police A.K. Jha and other officials were present.

More cultural programmes were scheduled at different places such as Thousand Pillar temple, Public Gardens and others to celebrate the occasion. The formation day was celebrated at Kakatiya University, Pingali Women’s College, NPDCL and at several government and private establishments across the district.
