In the last eight years, a total of 49 lakh acres were brought under cultivation and the stupendous and prestigious Kaleswaram formed a lifeline for the irrigation. The credit solely goes to chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. It was his relentless effort and vision that made it all possible.
He ensured free uninterrupted quality power and investment in the form of Rythu Bandhu.
Eight years ago, the farmers stared at the barren land devoid of any source of water and power. They used to while away their time. But that is all now history. They are very busy now with agricultural operations, thanks to the BRS government. This time 68 lakh acres are being cultivated, a record in Telangana history.
The total area under cultivation in Telangana in 201-2015 was just 12.23 lakh acres. Now in 2022-2023, it was 53.08 lakh acres and presently it is 68.53 lakh acres.
In the summer season, the total area under cultivation in 2014-2015 was 28.18 lakh acres now in the present season it is 68.53 lakh acres.
It was the sheer effort and vision of Mr KCR who promised and turned agriculture into a viable avocation through free power, Mission Kakatiya, Rythu Bandhu, the revival of defunct canals, and scores of other interventions.
