Mission Bhagiratha was completed with state funds: Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao

The Panchayat Raj minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao has said the prestigious and most useful programme Mission Bhagiratha was completed with only state government funds. The central government did not give a single rupee though the Niti Aayog asked it to give Rs 19,000 crore.

Mr Dayakar Rao said he was attracted by the scheme and joined the TRS party. No government in the past provided safe drinking water to people. Now the central government copied the scheme and is trying to implement it in other states. But they are giving borewell water. The Telangana government is providing purified water.

The minister addressed a group of engineers who felicitated him on bagging more awards for the scheme from the central government. It was chief minister Mr KCR who launched the scheme at an auspicious time and ministers Mr KTR and Vemula Prashanth Reddy and CMO officials who worked hard to ensure perfect and timely completion of Mission Bhagiratha.

He said by the time he joined the TRS party, it was going at great pace and now the results were everywhere to see. It bagged several awards and all states are planning to take up the scheme. The meeting was held at Hanamkonda collectorate. Collector Rajiv Gandhi Hanumanthu, CMO officials Priyanka Varghese and Smitha Sabarwal, Warangal mayor G Sudha Rani, corporators and several others were present.
