Noted social activist Medha Patkar extended her support to the ongoing Telangana statehood movement. She came to Gajwel to attend a seminar on agriculture crisis, organized by National Alliance of People’s Movements (NAPM).
Medha said that small states are better governed and a lot of greivances could be handled better in small states. She stated that Telangana is a long-cherished dream of the people of this region and it should be fulfilled at the earliest. She also lauded Mayavathi for taking the initiative to divide Uttar Pradesh.
Medha Patkar also consoled the family members of farmers who had committed suicide in Srigiripalli village.
