Namasthe Telangana – the first main stream Telangana daily news paper, was launched today by the family members of martyrs who have laid down their lives for the Telangana cause.
Thousands thronged the Ravindra Bharati auditorium to witness history unfold in front of them.
Mother of Srikanth Chary – the first martyr in current Telangana agitation – Smt Shankaramma, Parents of Martyr Ishan Reddy – Patlolla Saraswathi and Indra Sena Reddy, Wife of Martyr SI Krishnayya – Smt Padmavathi launched the newspaper today morning at 11:45 AM.
This was undoubtedly a historic occasion. Telangana society demonstrated to the whole world that these martyrs have a special place in their hearts and minds.
Speaking at the occasion, KCR said that while it is norm to call some VVIP like the Chief Minister for such inaugurations, for Telangana people – the families of martyrs are the VVIPs.
Editor Allam Narayana said that it is time to correct the injustice done to Telangana over the decades. He recalled how the Telangana voice was stifled by the Seemandhra dominated media.
