The Telangana government is first to give women a chance to prove their talent as linemen in the power sector.
Minister Mr KTR and power minister Mr G Jagdish Reddy felicitated 217 women who got jobs as linemen in Genco.
The job entails climbing up electric poles and carrying out repairs on power lines. Bravely many women applied for the jobs and the Telangana government was kind enough to give them a chance to prove their talents. They did it and stood as an example to other aspirants.
Mr KTR said the hawk eye, she teams, and many welfare programmes aimed at women empowerment were launched by the TRS government. The Kalyana Lakshmi, Shaadhi Mubarak, KCR kits, Amma Vodi, Anna Purna canteens and many are dedicated to women of Telangana.
Expressing his happiness at women gaining jobs in the power department, he urged them to utilise all the government schemes aimed at their good launched by chief minister Mr KCR.
The minister took part in various meetings organized on the occasion of international women’s day and listed out the initiatives of TRS government in women empowerment.
