The women of Telangana deserve a grand celebration as they witnessed development in all sectors, said Minister Mr KTR.
Besides the welfare schemes for women such as Kalyana Lakshmi, Shaadhi Mubarak, KCR kits, Aarogya Lakshmi among others, the KCR government provided 30 percent jobs in the police department and 50 percent in the power department.
The ministers Sabitha Indra Reddy, Satyavathi Rathod and others present at a function held to facilitate women journalists.
Addressing the gathering Mr KTR said following the KCR kits intervention the institutional deliveries increased in the state.
Infant and maternal mortality rates came down drastically.
Minister Ms Sabitha Indra Reddy said one can see great change in women empowerment compared to the past.
Minister Ms Satyavathi Rathod said women in Telangana are happy now under the rule of Mr KCR. The She teams were formed to provide safety and security. Now women can move for duties even during nights without any fear.
It may be noted that massive recruitment in police department helped women get employment as the government filled 18000 jobs giving women 30 percent of them. Similarly of about 9000 posts in the power sector 50 percent were reserved for women.
The state government is planning for a massive recruitment drive as the chief minister indicated after zonal transfers.
