As elections are approaching, the Congress party seems to be getting very creative. In an apparent attempt of sending out a very strong message to the people of Seemandhra that it is committed to United Andhra Pradesh, Congress party is roping none other than controversial anti-Telangana leader Lagadapati Rajgopal to canvass in Parakala.
This decision was apparently taken by the Congress high command.
When bypolls were held in Telangana region, the same Congress party leaders said that their party supports Telangana statehood. And as soon as the Seemandhra bypoll schedule was announced, Congress party has taken a shameless U-turn and now says it supports a united Andhra Pradesh.
To buttress this point, Congress high command has asked its Telangana ministers and MPs to campaign in Seemandhra region. It has even appointed Telangana leaders as constituency incharges. But fearing backlash from Telangana society, only minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu and MP Balaram Naik have canvassed so far in the Seemandhra region.
To rub more salt into the Telangana wounds, Congress party is now planning to bring in Lagadapati Rajgopal to canvass for Congress party in Parakala.
We are sure Parakala voters will show the taste of Telangana to this anti-Telangana comedian.
