Chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao has announced that the Kalyana Laxmi scheme, wherein the government was providing a financial assistance of Rs 51,000 to SC, ST girls at the time of their marriage, would be extended to BC girls from next year onwards.
Likewise, the ‘Sanna Biyyam’ scheme, providing fine variety of rice to inmates of welfare hostels would be extended to college hostels too. The government has started supplying Sanna Biyyam to welfare hostels up to class 10 this year. The students of college hostels too would be provided the same quality of rice from next year onwards.
The chief minister made these announcements at a meeting with Warangal leaders after handing over B Form to TRS candidate Pasunuru Dayakar for Warangal Lok Sabha seat at Telangana Bhavan here on Saturday. While giving the B Form to Dayakar, Rao said: “The party will give funds to Dayakar for the campaign.”
Addressing the leaders, Rao claimed that Telangana stood first in the country in implementing welfare schemes.
He reiterated that the government was committed to construct 60,000 two bedroom houses for the poor in the state this year.
He said that all tribal hamlets would be made gram panchayats before the next panchayat raj elections.
Meanwhile, TDP leader and Rajya Sabha member Gundu Sudharani joined TRS in the presence of Rao at Telangana Bhavan on Saturday.
