IT Minister Meets Hong Kong Investors

IT minister KT Rama Rao, who is touring Hong Kong and Taiwan to attract investments in electronic hardware manufacturing in Telangana, met the local industrialists at a summit organised by CII on Thursday.

Rama Rao along with IT secretary Jayesh Ranjan is on a three-day tour to the two countries. In the interactive session, prominent companies involved in financial services, equity and hedge funds and property development based in Hong Kong attended the meeting.

Close to 50 representatives of such company representatives interacted on various issues like investments and opportunities in Telangana state.

KTR briefed the gathering about the investment policy of Telangana and other resources available for setting up new firms, an official release said.

“Having learnt about the progressive and business-friendly policies and governance in the new state of Telangana, the companies have expressed confidence in the new state” Rama Rao said after the meeting.

The Consul General of India in Hong Kong Prashant Agarwal, chairman of Indian Chamber of Commerce Hong Kong M Arunachalam and chairperson of CII Hyderabad Vanitha Datla were present on the occasion. Rama Rao also visited Cyberport, a large facility in Hong Kong which houses start-ups. The possibility of collaboration with T Hub was discussed. Mark O Cleft, COO of the organization also participated in the discussions.
