Incessant rains and flood situation plays havoc in the state.

The continuous rain has resulted in damage to roads to the extent of 215 kilometres and a total of 14 municipalities were worst affected.

As many as 43 villages were cut off from the mainstream as all the streams were overflowing. A total of 307 houses in urban areas and 115 houses in rural areas collapsed due to heavy rains.

The Panchayat Raj department suffered a loss of Rs 133 crore as many of its roads were washed away due to floods.

The drainages to an extent of 37 kilometres were damaged while 86 culverts were washed away in floods. The drinking water pipeline to an extent of seven kilometres was damaged. A total of 565 complaints were received so far from the flood-affected people at CDMA office.

According to officials, 1,130 houses were partially damaged and 161 houses were submerged in rain waters. A total of 308 were shifted to safer places by the Panchayat Raj department.
