The Telangana police department has announced a one time discount on fines imposed on motorists.
Starting from March 1 to 31st, now those with pending challans have to pay just 25 percent. Those facing a Rs 1000 fine for not wearing a mask just need to pay Rs 100. Similarly discounts were announced to light to heavy vehicles across the Telangana state.
The decision was taken in view of pending challans and also conditions prevailing due to the Corona pandemic in the state.
The pandemic has severely affected the people throwing them into distress. Many lost their jobs and many became very poor.
As a goodwill gesture the police department has taken this decision to help people.
The motorists are thanking the ruling TRS government for its gesture.
