Former Tamil Nadu BJP president appointed as Telangana Governor

Once again, a former Tamil Nadu BJP president has been appointed as the Governor of Telangana  C.P. Radhakrishnan, currently serving as the Governor of Jharkhand, has been assigned additional responsibilities for Telangana and Puducherry as well.

A press release from the Rashtrapati Bhavan said, “The President of India has accepted the resignation of Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan as Governor of Telangana and Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry. The President of India is pleased to appoint Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan, Governor of Jharkhand, to assume the duties of the Governor of Telangana and Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry, in addition to his current responsibilities, until further arrangements are made.”

Radhakrishnan, who previously served as the state unit president of Tamil Nadu BJP and was elected as the Member of Parliament from Coimbatore in the 1998 and 1999 Lok Sabha elections, also held the position of national executive member of the BJP. Additionally, he served as the chairman of the All India Coir Board from 2016 to 2019.

Radhakrishnan was appointed as the Governor of Jharkhand in February 2023.
