Congress shuts the doors on Seemandhra MPs

Six Seemandhra MPs were told not to attend the AICC session to be held today in Delhi. These Seemandhra MPs, had defied the party highcommand’s decision on Telangana statehood and even served a ‘no-confidence’ motion on UPA government in the last Parliament session.

This is perhaps a clear indication that very soon these Six MPs would be shown the door.

Sources inform that yesterday morning, Congress president Sonia Gandhi’s political secretary Ahmed Patel and AICC general secretary in charge of the state Digvijaya Singh separately telephoned these MPs. The MPs include Lagadapati Rajagopal, Vundavalli Arun Kumar, G V Harsha Kumar, A Sai Pratap, Rayapati Sambasiva Rao and Sabbam Hari. All six MPs were specifically asked to keep away from the AICC meeting.

Two other senior Congressmen, who were also vocal in their opposition to party high command’s decision on Telangana – MLAs, J C Diwakar Reddy and Gade Venkata Reddy were also told not to attend the AICC session.

Even Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy is not attending the AICC session. Rumors are floating in the state that Kiran Reddy would be launching a new political party in the next 10 days.
