Comrades give double shock to TDP

The last nail in Telugu Desam party’s coffin in Telangana region was hammered yesterday with both CPI and CPM rejecting any kind of alliance with the party in upcoming by-elections.

Chandra Babu Naidu’s strategy of managing the central leadership of both these parties to stitch together a poll alliance in 2009 general elections, seems to have failed miserably this time around.

Yesterday, CPM state secretary BV Raghavulu made it clear to the visiting TDP delegation that they would not support them and would contest these elections on their own.

It is learnt that repeated requests by TDP leaders Devendar Goud and Varla Ramulu to save their party from impending humiliation in the bypolls went unheeded by CPM’s state leadership.

On the other hand CPI state secretary has given enough hints to the same TDP delegation that they also would not support them. Adding insult to injury the CPI leadership is planning to announce its support to all those MLAs who had resigned for Telangana cause.

Telangana Rashra Samiti supremo KCR had made a smart move by dashing off to Maqdhoom Bhavan, the CPI headquarters in Hyderabad along with several party leaders and requesting the support of CPI. Apparently Narayana had responded positively to KCR’s request.

With both CPM and CPI deciding to maintain distance from TDP, the writing on the wall is clear for two-eyed Naidu. It will be a humiliating defeat for his party on 18th March.

Now that is the price you pay when you back-stab a whole region.
