A team of Cantonment officials led by Lt Gen A Arun, Dakshin Bharat Area, General Commanding held talks with the Municipal Administration minister Mr K T Rama Rao and decided to cooperate with the state administration.
It may be noted that Mr Rama Rao expressed his unhappiness over the closure of roads passing through the cantonment area in the name of security putting the citizens to hardship. They were also not cooperating with the construction of skyways passing through the cantonment.
The State government had taken up a massive road widening programme and infrastructural facilities all over the city. However, the Cantonment areas were coming in the way and the ARmy officials were not cooperating all through.
They also discussed the nala development passing through the Mehdipatnam Cantonment area. And the development of a link road passing through Neknampura through Dollar Hills.
The Army officials finally agreed to cooperate with the State government and said they would join the GHMC officials for a joint inspection and what needs to be done from the Cantonment side.
Mr Rama Rao reminded that the State government always respected the Army and its sacrifices. He also reminded how martyr Mr Santosh’s family was honoured by the state government.
The Army officials made a promise to Mr Rama Rao that they would certainly cooperate with the government and keep in touch with the GHMC officials.
