Bonalu, the colorful festival of Telangana, has begun yesterday with thousands of devotees thronging the Jagadamba Temple in Golkonda Fort. As per the tradition, the first Bonalau was held at the Jagadamba Temple.
The “Thottela procession” was flagged off from Langar Hous chourata by state endowments minister C. Ramachandraiah. He promised that Bonalu would be accorded the status of state festival in a couple of days.
The festival would continue across Telangana for a month before concluding on July 19th at the same place where it began – Jagadamba Temple in Golkonda Fort
