Bathukamma, the unique festival of Telangana, a festival that celebrates life and nature, has begun. Across the world, from Australia to USA, Telanganites gathered in large numbers and started the first Bathukamma, called the engilipuvvu.
The final Bathukamma, the saddula Bathukamma will be celebrated on the 5th of October.
In Telangana, every village, town and city reverberated with Bathukamma songs. This year’s Bathukamma has brought renewed fervor to this festival as it comes at the height of Telangana statehood movement.
