All arrangements are in place for the polling in Huzurabad Assembly constituency.
Polling will be held on Saturday from 7 am to 7 pm. The election authorities have distributed 97 percent of voter slips and deployed 1,715 personnel for election duties. As many as 20 companies of para-military forces were deployed to ensure smooth polling in the constituency that has about 2,37,000 voters to exercise their franchise at 306 polling stations. A total of 3,865 police personnel were also drafted for election duties.
The voters should produce one of the identity proofs such as voter card, adhaar card, bank passbook, and others to vote.
The district administration has clamped Sec 144 prohibiting the gathering of people across the constituency. They have also arranged for 421 control units, 891 ballot units, and 515 VVPATS. District collector V Karnan said they kept some ballot units ready for any exigency.
Campaign in any form within 200 metres of the polling centres is banned.
The distribution of election material began on Friday. The polling personnel will be leaving with material to their respective polling centres from this afternoon.
