A total of 298 polling booths are set up and as many as 47 candidates are in the fray for the Munugode by-election. There are over 2.4 lakh voters who will be exercising their votes from 7 am to 6 pm today.
Over 4000 polling personnel are involved in the conduct of polling while thousands of paramilitary forces and local police were drafted for duties in Munugode. The counting of votes will take place on November 6.
People across the state and even those abroad are eagerly waiting for the outcome at Munugode. While the ruling TRS party leaders appear confident, the main rivals BJP seem desperate as indicated by their talk and deeds. The ruling party workers and leaders are keeping their calm but BJP leaders are still making uncharitable remarks to score a point at the last minute.
However, they have nothing to showcase or promise. Despite challenges from the ruling party, they failed to bring any assurance from the centre on Munugode development. The TRS party working president Mr KTR meanwhile asked the party cadre to keep calm and not get provoked by BJP leaders who are out to blame and take political mileage.
