A group of officials went on to study the proposed airport metro line project and found some hurdles in the way. They are now devising plans to overcome the hurdles with alternate plans.
A team headed by metro chief Mr NVS Reddy found that between Nanakramguda to Raidurgam, the line was having some difficulties due to 21-metre-high Mindspace building, an underpass, a rotary and a flyover.
To overcome these three obstacles, they need to construct an exclusive span which they would do after deliberations. Metro pillars should be constructed from far away from fly over pillars, Mr NVS Reddy explained. It may be noted that the foundation for this corridor was laid by the chief minister Mr KCR from the state funds despite centre not cooperating.
The proposed corridor is estimated to cost Rs. 6,250 crore with 8 to 9 stations and a total of 31 kilometres. With a speed of 120 km, it will take 26 minutes to reach the destination with a frequency of 2.5 minutes during peak hours.
Once completed, it will be an another feather cap in the capital city and is expected to attract more investments to the city.
