Why Modi silent on fuel price hike: KTR

The central government is getting crude oil from Russia on discount but the same is not passed onto the citizens, Telangana IT minister Mr KTR said the central government is collecting Rs. 35,000 lakh crores by way of cess. It has benefitted the corporate companies to the tune of Rs 35,000 crore by waiving under the non performing assets (NPA). The Modi government is benefiting corporate companies while burdening the common man in the country, he said.

Demanding the central government stop false propaganda against states, Mr KTR said Telangana is ready to offer petrol at Rs. 70 per litre and diesel at Rs. 60 per litre diesel if the central government reduces cess or passes on the Russian discount on crude oil to citizens in the country.

The minister pointed out that the Central government is collecting huge sums through GST from states but discriminating and delaying in release if GST share to states. While it released about 80 percent and above to BJP ruled states, Telangana state got less than 50 percent of its share.

Mr Modi should stop political vendetta against non-BJP ruled states and treat the whole country equally, Mr KTR added.
