All the Joint Action Committees in Warangal, the hotbed of Telangana statehood movement, have stepped up their protests against the proposed tour of TDP supremo Chandra Babu Naidu in the district. Babu is planning to tour the district starting January 6th.
Reacting to a call give by the Telangana Political Joint Action Committee, family members of Telangana Martyrs have staged a dharna at the Telangana Martyrs Memorial in Warangal. They carried placards and shouted slogans against Babu’s district tour.
Speaking at the dharna, district JAC convenor T. Papi Reddy warned that Chandra Babu should first spell out his stand on the Telangana statehood issue before venturing into the district.
TRS district convener Peddi Sudarshan Reddy, BJP district leader D Devender Reddy, Telangana Graduates Association president M Yadava Reddy, TRS Students wing leader Jorike Ramesh and others have also addressed the dharna.
