UPA to go ahead with statehood bill sans Assembly opinion?

News emerging from New Delhi indicates that the UPA top bosses have come to a conclusion that no meaningful discussion will happen on the AP State Reorganization Bill. They are now planning to move ahead with the statehood bill rather than wait until the Jan 23rd deadline given by President expires.

Reports say that UPA Chair Person Sonia Gandhi has talked to Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shide about the stalemate in the AP Assembly. Shinde reportedly spoke with Governor Narasimha, who told him that the law and order situation in the state is perfectly okay.

Central government is keenly observing how the Seemandhra MLAs are disrupting the house ever since the Telangana bill has been tabled. They feel that there is no point waiting for long if the MLAs do not want to discuss the bill.
